BACON!

Want to make a bunch of bacon but don’t want to stand over a stove cooking it? Here is a great way to make a pound of bacon all at one time with little effort (and no grease splattering all over the stove top).

Here is what you will need:

Baking sheet with lip

          18” wide aluminum foil
        1 lb. bacon

Paper towels

Do NOT pre-heat oven (it will cause the bacon to cook too fast and burn).

Using 18” wide aluminum foil, line a baking sheet. It is best to cover the baking sheet with a whole sheet instead of piecing it with smaller pieces. (Keeps the bacon grease contained)

Lay the bacon slices on the foil in a single layer. They can be placed close together but try not to overlap too much.

Put the bacon in the oven.
Turn on the oven to 425 degree.  Again, do NOT preheat the oven.

Cook about 15 minutes – take baking sheet out of oven and turn over each piece of bacon. Cooking times will vary depending on your oven.  Keep an eye on it!

Cook for about 7 minutes more – take out any bacon pieces that look done. Place bacon on paper towels to drain.

Put remaining bacon back in the oven for about 1 or 2 minutes. Keep an eye on the bacon as it will start to burn fast at this point.

Put bacon on paper towels to drain and cool.

When cooled, pull up the edges of the foil and wrap up into a ball for disposal.
Put cooled bacon in a plastic baggie and store in the refrigerator.
Done! And no greasy mess to clean up.
